The Special Procedures Technologist PRN is a key member of the Interventional Suites team, providing technical assistance to physicians with diagnostic and interventional procedures. This role requires a strong understanding of patient care quality standards and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities- Assist with all procedures performed in the Interventional Suite, ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the exam.
- Demonstrate proficiency with all equipment within the Interventional Suite procedure room, including fluoroscopy, pan table, and ultrasound units.
- Prepare patients and rooms for exams, managing wires and other components required for procedures.
- Perform the role of circulator during procedures, pulling supplies, altering technique as needed, and communicating with patients and families.
- Provide patient care throughout procedures, explaining the procedure to patients and ensuring their understanding.
- Adhere to Standard Precautions or Isolation Precautions as appropriate for patients.
- Associate Degree or graduate from an accredited Radiological Technology Program (ARRT)
- 2 years of Radiology Tech experience in an acute setting
- 1-2 years of experience as an Interventional Technologist
- Licensed Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) with the Texas Medical Board
- Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- Primary certification in Radiography - ARRT (R) or Vascular Interventional Radiography (VI)
- NIHSS within one month of employment start date
- Basic Cardiac Life Support within 30 days of employment start date
