About the Role

Seneca Foods Corporation is seeking a highly skilled Irrigation Supervisor to join our team. As an Irrigation Supervisor, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and effective operation of our irrigation systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and maintain irrigation systems to ensure optimal water usage and crop yields.
  • Delegate tasks and supervise seasonal helpers to ensure timely completion of irrigation-related activities.
  • Report progress, concerns, and upcoming tasks to the Farm Manager on a daily basis.
  • Collaborate with Farm Managers to maintain high-quality watering throughout the growing season and ensure timely fertigation applications.
  • Develop and implement cost-control measures to optimize equipment usage and budget allocation.
  • Perform electrical and mechanical troubleshooting to resolve irrigation-related issues.
  • Train new employees on irrigation procedures and stay up-to-date with new technologies and best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), safety regulations, and company policies.
  • Work collaboratively with managers and farm employees to maintain efficient day-to-day operations.
Requirements
  • Two-year college degree or equivalent experience in electrical/mechanical irrigation.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Leadership skills and ability to train new employees.
  • Electrical/mechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
