Research and Development Technician II

Shockwave Medical is a leading medical device company dedicated to revolutionizing the treatment of advanced cardiovascular disease. We are seeking a highly skilled R&D Technician II to join our team in Minnesota.
Job SummaryThe R&D Technician II will play a critical role in the development of innovative products to treat peripheral, coronary, and heart valve diseases. This position will involve working on multiple cross-functional development teams, managing projects from concept through commercialization, and performing a variety of development and engineering activities.
Key Responsibilities- Generate functional prototypes from design concepts and assist in the transfer of R&D product builds to manufacturing.
- Support product builds through all R&D project phases, providing feedback on assembly processes.
- Assist other technicians, assemblers, and engineers on procedures and product assembly.
- Assist engineers with product and process development and improvement.
- Perform testing to support design, process, and equipment validation.
- Prepare test samples (products/materials/solutions) for routine and qualification testing.
- Support the build and assembly of prototypes.
- Identify issues as they arise and assist in troubleshooting procedures and/or instruments.
- Maintain accurate documentation of concepts, designs, drawings, and processes.
- High School Diploma with 2+ years' technician experience or 3 years' other relevant hands-on medical device experience.
- Experience with balloon catheter, hydrophilic coating, or other cardiovascular medical devices development preferred.
- Ability to perform work under a microscope.
- Experience with test method execution is a plus.
- Familiar with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Documentation Practices (GDP), and laboratory practices.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
- Comfortable working in a clean room environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Experience with MS Office.
- Employee may be required to lift objects up to 25lbs.
