Position Summary
Key Responsibilities
As an Automotive Technician, you will be accountable for inspecting, diagnosing, and executing advanced repairs and maintenance on vehicles. Your role will also include performing emissions testing (where applicable), managing vehicle movement, overseeing inventory, documenting repairs, and utilizing computer systems effectively.
- Conduct inspections, maintenance, and repairs on various makes and models within DriveTime's inventory.
- Communicate automotive repairs and issues to management to reduce re-work and production delays.
- Ensure proper documentation of all tasks performed in DriveTime systems.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace to uphold the highest safety and compliance standards.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Proficiency in automotive repairs is essential.
- Ability to troubleshoot basic automotive issues.
- Strong communication skills to articulate causes and recommended solutions for vehicle problems.
- Capability to meet performance metrics.
- Basic computer literacy is required.

Qualifications Needed
- A certificate or associate's degree in automotive technology or equivalent work experience (3 years or more) in automotive repair.
- A valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Minimum age requirement of 18 years.
Physical Demands
The physical requirements outlined are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. - Ability to lift up to 60 pounds independently; most lifting will occur from knee to shoulder height.
- Capacity to carry and transport up to 60 pounds over distances of up to 20 feet.
- Requires standing for extended periods, with frequent stretching, reaching, walking, and stooping in environments that may be cold, hot, noisy, or wet, and may have fumes or odors from vehicle maintenance.
- Excellent visual acuity and manual dexterity are necessary.
- Use of safety equipment, including but not limited to face shields or goggles, non-slip shoes, gloves, masks, and other protective gear, is required.
- Some driving and frequent typing will be necessary.
- Regular and predictable attendance is essential.
