Job Summary

Watco Corp is seeking a skilled Track Laborer - Rail Infrastructure Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance crew, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our rail infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect and maintain rail tracks, including cross ties, switch ties, and other track materials
  • Perform manual labor tasks, such as loading and unloading materials, and constructing and repairing track infrastructure
  • Operate heavy equipment, such as rail grinders and transposers
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify and address potential safety hazards
  • Collaborate with other team members to achieve maintenance goals and deadlines
Requirements
  • High school education or equivalent
  • 3-6 months of job-related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Valid driver's license with no restrictions
  • CDL required (or must be obtained)
  • Ability to pass Track Ground School, GCOR Written Test, Roadway Worker Protection Written Test, Fall Protection Written Test, Maintenance of Way Safety Written Test, MSHA/OSHA Training and Certification
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Ability to lift heavy objects and perform manual labor tasks
  • Knowledge of Roadway Protection Rules and railroad operations
