OVERVIEW:
As a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), you will leverage your expertise in software development, systems engineering, and operational practices to construct and maintain large-scale, resilient systems. Your primary responsibility will be to guarantee the reliability, scalability, and optimal uptime of City National Bank's systems, whether hosted in a Data Center or on a Cloud Platform.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Serve as a technical authority to design solutions that enhance the reliability of the bank's software platforms.
- Engage in on-call support and manage all facets of the Incident Management process, including facilitating Blameless Post-mortems and promoting this practice within the organization.
- Act as a subject matter expert and collaborate with cross-functional teams to create and maintain technical documentation, network diagrams, runbooks, and procedures.
- Develop, implement, and oversee Service Level Indicators (SLIs), Service Level Objectives (SLOs), and Error Budgets for Availability, Performance/Latency, and Throughput of critical services in production. Advocate for the application of SRE core principles to enhance product velocity.
- Produce educational materials on best practices and share insights through blogs regarding cloud platforms and Observability. Organize hackathons and code reviews aimed at continuous improvement in design, construction, and architectural practices.
- Coordinate with the team managing public cloud environments, focusing on setup, administration, and troubleshooting.
- Mentor and guide junior team members to foster team productivity and professional growth.
- Oversee management, forecasting, and budgeting activities to ensure adequate funding and resources are available.
- Provide regular and constructive feedback to leadership for enhancing quality practices, prioritizing client experience in all support activities.
- Perform additional relevant duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of 12 years in an Operational role, DevOps, SRE, or Software Engineering.
- At least 8 years of experience in development using Java, NodeJS, .NET Core, or Python.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience with development or administration on cloud platforms such as Cloud Foundry, Heroku, AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, IBM Cloud, Bluemix, Kubernetes, and others. Significant experience with Platform as a Service cloud like Cloud Foundry is preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience developing applications with an active user base, deploying to production, and navigating change management processes.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience with log analysis and management tools such as Splunk, Elasticsearch, and Kibana.
- At least 2 years of experience with monitoring solutions like Datadog, AppDynamics, or Dynatrace.
- A creative and energetic approach to leveraging technology for industry transformation, with a strong belief in automation.
- A solid understanding of modern, cloud-centric architectures and DevOps methodologies.
- Experience with operational aspects of software systems, including monitoring, centralized logging, and alerting.
- Ability to provide standardized offerings to ensure operational health throughout the lifecycle of stacks, including metrics collection, aggregation, visualization, inventory, capacity, and billing/tag management.

COMPENSATION:
Starting base salary: $122,535 - $208,715 per year. Actual compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. This position is eligible for bonuses and/or commissions.
