Senior Life Insurance Underwriter

At Integrity Marketing Group, we're dedicated to helping people protect their life, health, and wealth. As a Senior Life Insurance Underwriter, you'll play a critical role in ensuring our clients receive the best possible outcomes for their life insurance applications.

Responsibilities:
  • Review and summarize lifestyle, medical, non-medical, and financial data to accurately evaluate and classify each risk.
  • Successfully deliver competitive outcomes by applying underwriting and product expertise.
  • Identify and address underwriting challenges within life applications, lab results, exams, and medical records.
  • Advocate and negotiate with insurance carriers on formal and informal offers.
  • Consult with agents, internal staff, insurance companies, and medical professionals to gather additional information.
  • Educate yourself on the latest medical advancements and industry developments.
  • Apply knowledge and experience to provide consistent and accurate advice on pre-sale inquiries.
  • Utilize our Agency Management System to document UW Summary and important case information.
  • Work in a team-focused environment with a sense of urgency and attention to detail.
  • Engage senior underwriting staff in case consultations and discussions to foster skillset strengthening.
  • Produce holistic case-by-case solutions that incorporate all risk dynamics in a multi-carrier brokerage environment.
Talents and Abilities:
  • Positive attitude and willingness to work in a team environment.
  • Confident communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to take initiative, exhibit creative thinking, and take ownership of situations.
  • Strong phone and computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Prior experience in life insurance underwriting or ability to learn.
  • Basic knowledge of life insurance industry, including key carriers and product strengths.
  • Prior exposure to multi-facet underwriting, including medical, lifestyle, non-medical, and financial considerations.
Education & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing, medical, or life sciences, or a related field with 10 years of life insurance underwriting experience; or 15 years of relevant work experience.
