Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to all organizational policies and procedures while fulfilling contract obligations.
  • Oversee daily cleaning operations and guide the team in their routine tasks.
  • Transport team members, supplies, and equipment to designated locations.
  • Provide training and mentorship to new custodial staff.
  • Monitor and report on the quality and quantity of work performed by custodians.
  • Assign rework as necessary to ensure compliance with contract standards.
  • Assist in training personnel on effective cleaning methods and procedures.
  • Collaborate closely with supervisors to ensure all team duties are executed as per contract requirements.
  • Respond promptly to communications from supervisors or designated representatives.
  • Report any facility issues, such as broken or leaking fixtures, to supervisors immediately.
  • Conduct cleaning and disinfection of restrooms and facilities as outlined in contractual documents.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks including scrubbing tiles, washing walls, and vacuuming carpets.
  • Ensure restrooms are stocked with necessary paper products and soap.
  • Manage waste disposal and recycling in accordance with established protocols.
  • Dust and polish various surfaces, including furniture and metal fixtures.
  • Maintain cleanliness in kitchenettes, break rooms, fitness centers, and child care areas.
  • Address cleaning needs in elevators, escalators, and stairwells.
  • Oversee the cleanliness of building exteriors, garages, and janitor closets.
  • Conduct emergency cleaning and carpet extraction tasks as required.
  • Comply with uniform and personal hygiene standards.
  • Complete required training in CPR/First Aid, OSHA, and security protocols.

Additional Responsibilities for Floor Crew:

  • Maintain all floor surfaces, including porches and steps.
  • Utilize and measure cleaning chemicals appropriately.
  • Perform floor maintenance tasks such as stripping, waxing, and buffing.

Secondary Duties:

  • Assist with inventory management.
  • Act as supervisor in the absence of the designated supervisor.
  • Maintain records and provide necessary reports.
  • Clear snow and ice from walkways and parking areas as needed.
  • Track and maintain assigned equipment and supplies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education: High School diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience: Relevant experience in custodial services is beneficial.
