Job Summary:

As a Mammography Technologist at Henry Ford Health, you will play a critical role in the evaluation of pathological entities in breast imaging. Under the direction of a Radiologist, you will perform Radiologic breast imaging procedures, utilizing independent judgment in determining appropriate radiographic techniques, positioning, and safety practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Explain examination procedures to patients, prepare them for the examination, and review clinical data on requisitions.
  • Obtain additional information about patient medical history as necessary and prepare procedure rooms.
  • Analyze anatomical structures, set up equipment, and perform Radiologic procedures, ensuring the principles of radiation protection are demonstrated.
  • Utilize patient immobilization as needed and perform all imaging procedures by selecting appropriate equipment settings to reduce dose.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is required.
  • Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) and the advanced registry in Mammography, ARRT (M) (or registry eligible).
  • Must maintain the required hours of continued medical education and meet all Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) criteria.
