This position reports to the Director of Estimating.

Full-Time direct hire: Monday through Friday with travel requirements of approximately 25%.

Job Overview:

Responsible for crafting proposals and bids for material handling storage systems within the designated region. Analyze plans and specifications to devise innovative solutions that provide a competitive advantage in a sales context to secure business opportunities.

Primary Responsibilities:

To excel in this role, an individual must effectively manage each essential duty. The responsibilities outlined below reflect the knowledge, skills, and abilities required:

  • Generate quotes and proposals for the Sales Team's utilization.
  • Examine plans, specifications, and other client documents to create and prepare cost estimates for labor, materials, goods, and services.
  • Offer alternative solutions in response to requests for quotations (RFQ).
  • Define project scope and obtain competitive pricing for non-manufactured components, non-standard parts, labor, and freight.
  • Monitor changes in project scope that may impact costs.
  • Follow up on submitted proposals.
  • Report outcomes of successful or unsuccessful bids to management.
  • Coordinate resources for addressing customer service inquiries from clients or distributors.
  • Maintain project and proposal documentation.
  • Conduct field troubleshooting for customer service challenges or additional sales responsibilities.
  • Engage with municipal or private industry representatives, including engineers and other professional personnel.
  • Clarify bids with customers or clients as necessary.

Expected Deliverables:

  • Exceptional sales support and proposal development that meets or exceeds both external and internal customer satisfaction in a timely manner.

Required Experience:

  • A minimum of 5 years of proven experience in a multi-faceted organization.
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication, and team development skills.

Educational Background:

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in Engineering or a related field from an accredited institution; or 5 or more years of relevant experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

The salary range for this position is between $65,000 and $70,000, with some flexibility.
