Pharmacist - Medication Expert

Forrest General Hospital seeks a skilled Pharmacist to join our team in providing exceptional patient care. The ideal candidate will possess a strong knowledge base in medication therapy and be able to evaluate orders, make recommendations, and manage therapy through protocols.
This position requires extensive collaboration with medical staff, nursing service, and non-hospital personnel. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment and possess strong critical thinking skills and decisive judgment.
The Pharmacist will be responsible for dispensing, procurement, control, and consultation involved with pharmaceuticals. They will also supervise and direct support personnel and perform other duties as assigned.
Performance Expectations:
The successful candidate will be expected to utilize critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment. They will also be expected to possess strong knowledge of hospital policies and government regulations and dispense accordingly with few variances from policy.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will be a graduate of an ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy and possess a current Controlled Substance Registration in the State of Mississippi by the MS State Board of Pharmacy. Registration with the Mississippi State of Board of Pharmacy is also required.
Work Experience:
Preferred but not required.
