Job Summary

Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Trophy Club is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to join our team. As a Sterile Processing Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and sterility in our operating rooms and patient care areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform sterilization procedures to meet the requirements of each approved procedure.
  • Adhere to sterilization process policies and procedures.
  • Inspect equipment and instruments for proper working condition.
  • Maintain equipment and instrumentation according to manufacturer's recommendations.
  • Accurately label and date sterilized equipment and instruments.
  • Maintain availability of instruments and equipment to avoid delays.
  • Report observed or suspected breaks in sterile technique and take action according to policy.
  • Correctly operate decontamination equipment, autoclaves, and Steris equipment.
  • Perform required biological and chemical monitoring tests on all sterilizers and maintain logs according to policy and procedure.
  • Perform checks for outdated items or package integrity.
  • Keep instrument racks in an organized manner.
  • Maintain adequate supplies for the sterile processing area.
  • Coordinate and implement AMI standards for the sterilization of instruments and supplies.
  • Perform other tasks and duties as assigned in an efficient, effective, and cost-conscious manner, complying with USPI's policies, procedures, and regulations.

  • 1-2 year previous experience as Instrument Room Technician or equivalent experience
