Position Overview

The Bilingual Primary Care Physician is responsible for providing high-quality, comprehensive inpatient and outpatient healthcare services to the patients of the Medical Center. This role involves direct reporting to the Medical Director concerning clinical matters and activities related to medical care delivery. Primary Care Physicians are expected to be well-versed in the philosophy, goals, and objectives of the Center, collaborating effectively to achieve them. Compliance with all Center policies and procedures, along with relevant state and federal regulations, is essential.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Conduct thorough health histories and perform physical examinations.
  2. Maintain a problem-oriented health record for each patient in accordance with established Health Information Management policies.
  3. Ensure continuity of care by delivering comprehensive medical services promptly as per the Clinic schedule, within the Center's scope of practice.
  4. Provide excellent customer service through various communication channels to assist patients with their healthcare needs.
  5. Facilitate referrals for patients requiring services not available at the Medical Center.
  6. Review incoming reports (e.g., laboratory results, imaging studies) and ensure timely follow-up.
  7. Adhere to established departmental and medical center policies, procedures, and objectives, including quality improvement and safety standards.
  8. Participate in health promotion, education, and prevention programs as needed; attend and contribute to medical center and departmental meetings.
  9. Engage in external medical public relations activities as necessary.
  10. Mentor and supervise students and clinical support staff, as appropriate, and oversee mid-level practitioners.
  11. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Medical Director.

Required Qualifications

  1. Current unrestricted State Medical License.
  2. Degree from an accredited medical school.
  3. Board Eligible or Board Certified in Internal Medicine or Family Practice.
  4. Ongoing continuing medical education as mandated by Board specialty.
  5. A combination of education, training, and experience demonstrating the ability to fulfill the responsibilities outlined.

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred.
  2. A minimum of two years of experience in primary care with a multicultural patient population, delivering high-quality, patient-centered programs.
