Clinical Nurse - Med-Surge-Ortho-8E
Job Summary:We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Clinical Nurse to join our team at Mount Sinai Hospital. As a Clinical Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to patients on the Med-Surge-Ortho-8E unit. You will work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans that meet the unique needs of each patient.
Responsibilities:- Deliver high-quality patient care by incorporating the principles of Relationship Centered Care and the nursing process.
- Assess and evaluate patient care needs and apply critical thinking skills in patient care management.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the plan of care.
- Prioritize all aspects of patient care, including teaching, rounding, coaching, and planning after hospital care, and delegate to others as appropriate.
- Educate patients and caregivers about their plan of care, transition of care, promotion of health, and prevention of disease.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, family, and all members of the Interdisciplinary Patient Care Team.
- Manage assignments within the Care Delivery Model of Modified Primary Nursing and demonstrate allocation of material resources effectively.
- Graduation from an accredited Nursing program.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) or Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) with a graduation date within the year.
- Relevant clinical competence in the area of nursing practice assigned.
- Licensed as a registered nurse with current registration in New York State.
- Basic Life Saver (BLS) certification.
- NRP (Labor and Delivery, NICU dept) certification.
- ACLS (in ED; PACU/ASU; ICUs; Telemetry Units; SDU; IR, Interventional Cardiology (CCL/EP/Echo); L&D; Endoscopy, and APN Adult Oncology) certification.
- PALS (in ED; PACU; IR; Peds ICU, and APNs Pediatric Oncology depts.) certification.
