About This Role

PEAK6 Capital Management is seeking an experienced Director, Risk to lead our risk management function. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, analyze, and mitigate risks across our trading activities. You will develop and implement strategies to improve our risk management framework and enhance the effectiveness of our risk controls.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee the implementation and optimization of risk management strategies, leveraging industry best practices and innovative approaches to improve the effectiveness of our risk controls.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, analyze, and mitigate risks across all trading activities.
Develop and maintain policies and procedures for risk management, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Manage a team of risk professionals, providing mentorship and guidance to support their growth and development.
Own risk management theories and best practices, providing guidance and expertise to the trading organization and cross-functional teams.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline, such as Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or Statistics; Master's degree or CFA preferred.
10+ years of experience within the financial services industry, with a focus on options trading and derivatives.
In-depth knowledge of options trading and risk management theories, including volatility, delta hedging, and portfolio management including risk identification and mitigation.
Strong understanding of financial markets and regulatory requirements related to risk management.
Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to manage and develop a team of risk professionals.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
