About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Clinical Professional to join our team at the Community Renewal Team. As a Clinical Professional - Part Time, you will play a vital role in providing clinical services to our clients, working under the supervision of a Licensed Clinician.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide crisis intervention services in response to emotional and/or physical distress.
  • Conduct diagnostic evaluations to identify treatment needs and refer clients to Licensed Clinicians for further support.
  • Ensure adherence to infection control practices and maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Make referrals to outside programs for medical and/or psychological intervention as needed.
  • Collect urine specimens for drug screening and provide counseling services to mentally ill, alcohol dependent, and/or homeless AIDS/HIV positive clients.
  • Assess clients to formulate treatment plans and provide individual and/or group counseling sessions.
  • Orient new patients to treatment programs and participate in treatment planning.
  • Identify potential clients and provide them with information about our Agency programs.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate comprehensive treatment plans with regular contact with clients.
  • Complete required paperwork, including client records, in a timely fashion and maintain client confidentiality.
  • Provide ongoing liaison, referral, and advocacy for clients with social service providers, emphasizing self-empowerment for clients to access needed services independently.
  • Participate in team meetings, seminars, and trainings as stipulated by the Supervisor.
  • Collaborate with community providers to enhance program content areas.
  • Present programs to various agencies and referring agencies on a monthly basis.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Attend all applicable trainings and participate in planning and implementing monthly group activities for program participants.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Master's degree in social science.
  • A minimum of 3 years of related clinical experience with homelessness, mental health, or substance use.
  • Active certification in good standing, such as LMSW, LADC, LMFT, or LPC.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, as well as excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to motivate groups and individuals.
  • Experience working with diverse ethnic and economic backgrounds, familiarity with living issues, and vocational/educational assessments and trainings.
  • A working knowledge of computer systems and the ability to interact with people of diverse backgrounds.
  • Knowledge of HIV/AIDS, mental health, and substance use disorders (co-occurring) is required, as well as knowledge of social services in Hartford.
  • Ability to work in collaboration with other service providers and experience in facilitating groups is preferred.
