Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Clinician to join our team at the Community Renewal Team. As a Clinician, you will play a vital role in providing clinical services to our clients, including crisis intervention, diagnostic evaluations, and counseling.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide crisis intervention services in response to emotional and/or physical distress.
  • Conduct diagnostic evaluations to identify treatment needs and make referrals to licensed clinicians as necessary.
  • Ensure adherence to infection control practices and make referrals to outside programs for medical and/or psychological intervention.
  • Collect urine specimens for drug screening and provide counseling services to mentally ill, alcohol dependent, and/or homeless AIDS/HIV positive clients.
  • Assess clients to formulate treatment needs and orient new patients to treatment programs.
  • Participate in treatment planning and individual and/or group counseling, and identify potential clients and provide them with information about agency programs.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate comprehensive treatment plans with regular contact and complete required paperwork in a timely fashion.
  • Provide ongoing liaison, referral, and advocacy for participants with social service providers, emphasizing self-empowerment for participants to independently access needed services.
  • Participate in team meetings and seminars, and trainings as stipulated by supervisor, and provide presentations about programs to various agencies and other referring agencies on a monthly basis.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in social science required.
  • Minimum 3 years related clinical experience with homelessness, mental health, or substance use.
  • Active certification in good standing, such as LMSW, LADC, LMFT, or LPC.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to motivate on a group and individual basis.
  • Experience working with participants from diverse ethnic and economic backgrounds, and familiarity with living issues and vocational/educational assessments and trainings.
  • Working knowledge of computer systems and ability to interact with people of diverse backgrounds.
