Senior Principal Engineer Guidance Navigation Control

Northrop Grumman is seeking a highly skilled Principal Engineer Guidance Navigation Control to join our team in San Diego, CA.
Job Summary:We are looking for a talented engineer with expertise in guidance navigation control systems to support the Vehicle Management System (VMS) Hardware Avionics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for navigation subsystem lab testing, flight test support, anomaly resolution, and supplier management, among other duties.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform technical planning, system integration, verification, and validation of total systems.
- Conduct cost and risk analysis, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems.
- Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions.
- Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detailed trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition studies.
- Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM).
- At least 8 years of experience with a Bachelor's degree in STEM, 6 years with a Master's degree in STEM, or 3 years with a PhD in STEM.
- General understanding of the GPS system and how it works.
- General understanding of inertial sensors and how they work.
- MS degree in STEM.
- TS or ability to obtain a TS clearance.
- Flight test experience.
- Supplier management experience.
- Good understanding of the GPS system, GPS Signal in Space characteristics, DGPS systems, inertial sensors, GPS/INS tightly coupled Kalman filters, GPS receiver design.
- Requirements development experience.
- Requirements verification testing experience.
- Proficiency with test equipment (oscilloscopes, signal generators, signal analyzers, multi-meters).
Northrop Grumman offers a competitive salary range of $133,000 - $199,600, as well as a variety of benefits, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, company-paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
