Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Production Operations Assistant to join our team at Lopez Dorada Foods. As a key member of our production team, you will assist the Production Supervisor in overseeing daily activities, ensuring quality control, and maintaining a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with Scheduling and Coordination: Support the Production Supervisor in planning and coordinating daily production activities, ensuring timely completion of tasks and meeting production goals.
  • Quality Control and Assurance: Collaborate with the Production Supervisor to ensure that all products meet quality and food safety standards, identifying and addressing any issues promptly.
  • Employee Training and Development: Assist with training new employees and providing ongoing support to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • Safety and Compliance: Work closely with the Safety Department to identify and mitigate potential risks, ensuring a safe working environment for all employees and minimizing the company's exposure to loss and liability.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent, with 1-3 months of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Verbal and Written Communication Skills: Ability to read, interpret, and write routine reports and correspondence, with strong verbal communication skills to effectively interact with employees and management.
  • Information Systems Skills: Basic understanding of computer hardware and Microsoft Windows environments, with ability to learn routine and job-specific computer commands and functions.
  • Reasoning and Decision-Making Skills: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions, deal with problems involving several concrete variables, and use initiative to recognize problems and suggest possible solutions.
  • Organizational and People Skills: Punctual, able to stay on task, and complete short-term projects, with strong team-oriented attitude, good communication skills, and ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
Working Environment

The physical demands of this position require sitting, standing, walking, reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds. The primary work environment is in a refrigerated room with traditional processing equipment, requiring the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses and hearing protection.
