Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Auto Body Repair Specialist to join our team at The Boyd Group. As a key member of our repair team, you will be responsible for restoring vehicles to their pre-accident condition, ensuring a high level of quality and attention to detail in every repair.

Key Responsibilities

  • Vehicle Assessment and Repair
    • Conduct thorough assessments of vehicle damage to determine the necessary repairs
    • Develop and implement repair plans to restore vehicles to their pre-accident condition
  • Repair and Refinishing
    • Use a variety of tools and equipment to repair and restore vehicle bodies, including cutting guns, plasma cutters, and hydraulic jacks
    • Apply filler resins and other materials to repair dents and other minor damage
    • Realign car chassis and frames to repair structural damage
  • Quality Control and Assurance
    • Inspect vehicles after repair to ensure that all work has been executed correctly
    • Identify and address any quality control issues or concerns
  • Communication and Teamwork
    • Communicate effectively with customers and team members to ensure a smooth repair process
    • Collaborate with other repair team members to achieve repair facility KPIs

Requirements

  • Education and Experience
    • High school diploma or equivalent required
    • Successful completion of technical school program or a 3-year apprenticeship as an auto body repairer
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Ability to read job orders and work with minimal supervision
    • Ability to work with other repair team members in a fast-paced environment
    • Thorough understanding of methods and procedures to repair vehicle bodies
    • Thorough understanding of how to use tools required for the trade

Working Conditions

  • Must be able to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times
  • Must be able to visually inspect vehicle damage in a variety of weather conditions
  • Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections
