The Community Outreach Coordinator/Youth Support Specialist plays a vital role in assisting young adults in the Manchester, NH area who are facing homelessness or are at risk. This position involves working within a small team to support individuals aged 18-22 at the Waypoint Youth Resource Center. The Outreach Coordinator employs a Positive Youth Development framework, integrates Harm Reduction techniques, and practices a Trauma-Informed approach. Responsibilities include crisis intervention, facilitating pro-social activities, connecting with partner organizations, and providing guidance on independent living skills. The role also involves community outreach and collaboration with various agencies to enhance awareness of the homeless youth demographic and offer support at the Youth Resource Center.

Essential Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience (lived experience is highly valued).
  • Alternatively, a Bachelor's Degree in a Human Services-related discipline.
  • Experience working with vulnerable populations, outreach, sexual health, mental health, and/or substance use is preferred.
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check, with no history of abuse, neglect, or exploitation.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license, a clean driving record, reliable transportation, and liability insurance coverage of at least 50,000/100,000.
