Job Summary

As a Diagnostic Imaging Specialist at SSM Health, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care by performing diagnostic procedures using ultrasound waves to examine tissue and body structure. This position requires a registered sonographer with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Responsibilities and Requirements
  • Set up and adjust equipment to perform exams, ensuring proper functioning and safety standards.
  • Perform routine and complex studies, recognizing significant structures, artifacts, and pathology.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and orderly department, including procedure rooms, storage areas, and dressing rooms.
  • Ensure prompt submission of high-quality images and documents to PACS, labeling correctly and including patient data/history.
  • Comply with regulatory agencies and work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
Education and Experience
  • Completion of a sonography certification program.
  • No experience required, but a strong understanding of ultrasound principles and techniques is essential.
Physical Requirements
  • Constant standing and walking.
  • Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near and far.
  • Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication.
  • Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
  • Frequent lifting/moving of patients.
  • Frequent reaching, gripping, and keyboard use/data entry.
