Emergency Department Registered Nurse

Eastern Connecticut Health Network is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Emergency Department team. As a Registered Nurse in this role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, working collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team, and communicating effectively with patients and families.
Responsibilities:
• Performs comprehensive assessments and re-assessments of patients' conditions and care needs, including psychosocial, physical, educational, and cultural aspects.
• Assesses and reassesses pain, utilizing appropriate pain management tools and techniques, and educates patients and families regarding pain management.
• Develops and revises individualized plans of care as indicated by assessment and patient response to treatment, involving patients and families in the formulation of goals.
• Follows the seven medication rights and reduces the potential for medication errors, demonstrating knowledge of medications and their correct administration based on age and clinical condition.
• Performs all aspects of patient care in an environment that optimizes patient safety and promotes positive patient outcomes, documenting the nursing process and responses to care in a timely manner.
• Demonstrates an ability to be flexible, organized, and function under stressful situations, utilizing critical thinking skills and sound judgment in priority setting and delegation.
Requirements:
• Must be a graduate of an accredited school of Nursing and have and maintain a current Registered Nurse license in the State of Connecticut.
• Must have certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) upon hire or within 3 months of hire, and obtain Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certified within one year of completion of hire into position.
• Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, and possess basic computer skills.
