Why this role is significant:

You will provide support to the General Counsel. Priceline seeks a knowledgeable, engaging, and seasoned attorney to act as the primary legal advisor for the Accommodations sector.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Act as the Chief Legal Advisor for the rapidly growing accommodations division, delivering extensive legal support across all operational needs.
  2. Oversee and manage Commercial Contracting for all services and products within the Accommodations sector, ensuring effective negotiation and execution of contracts.
  3. Offer General Counsel on daily matters, collaborating on supplier communications and providing strategic legal advice to facilitate business operations and decision-making.
  4. Advise on Strategic Partnership Opportunities, including licensing for new business ventures and assisting the sales team in business expansion efforts.
  5. Negotiate Major Agreements with hotel chain partners and other essential stakeholders to secure content supply and strategic alliances.
  6. Address Complex Business and Legal Challenges by leveraging your intellectual curiosity and proactive mindset to navigate and mitigate risks.
  7. Establish and Implement Standardized Processes and templates to enhance legal operations and improve efficiency.
  8. Manage Legal Escalations within the organization, collaborating with stakeholders on litigation matters and alternative dispute resolution strategies to effectively address and resolve conflicts.
  9. Work with Cross-Functional Teams globally to tackle issues related to privacy, data security, marketing, competition, intellectual property, tax, and regulatory compliance, ensuring product integrity and customer trust.
  10. Supervise External Counsel on escalated commercial and corporate issues, providing guidance and oversight to ensure alignment with business goals.
  11. Exhibit Executive Leadership by collaborating with key stakeholders to drive strategic initiatives, fulfill business objectives, and achieve measurable outcomes, demonstrating autonomy and a sense of ownership.
Qualifications:
  1. A minimum of 15 years of legal experience as a qualified attorney, including at least 3 years in-house.
  2. Experience in the travel industry, particularly within Accommodations (e.g., hotels, Online Travel Agencies, room distribution networks).
  3. Experience in technology law is advantageous.
  4. Extensive experience in concluding commercial contract negotiations with a diverse array of business partners; corporate law and dispute resolution experience is a plus.
  5. Familiarity with legal issues arising from cross-border transactions.
  6. Experience with holding companies, including intercompany agreements.
  7. Exceptional legal education and credentials from reputable law firms.
  8. Active member in good standing with your state bar, with the ability to work in your designated location.
  9. Strong drafting and negotiation skills are essential.
  10. Knowledge of consumer law and privacy, along with a general understanding of legal challenges facing technology companies, is highly preferred.
  11. Comfortable utilizing a contract management tool for contract administration while effectively partnering with the business to manage contracts through to completion.
  12. Willingness to travel (typically within the U.S. and Canada) to engage with business leaders and conduct negotiations with partners.

Salary considerations are based on various factors, including external market benchmarks, geographic location, and required experience. In addition to a competitive base salary, certain roles may be eligible for an annual bonus and/or equity grant.

The salary range for this position is $180,000 – $225,000.
