JOB OVERVIEW:
This role involves providing professional services within a dynamic office environment. The Department of Treasury seeks a dedicated individual ready to embrace a challenging yet fulfilling position that is distinct to State Government.

Each year, numerous individuals lose track of their financial assets, which may include funds in bank accounts, uncashed checks, or unclaimed insurance policies. The Department of Treasury is tasked with the responsibility of safeguarding these assets until the rightful owners are identified.


The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to delivering exceptional customer service, excellent communication abilities, a collaborative spirit, and a positive outlook.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Utilize established protocols in accordance with current regulations to assess claims and confirm ownership of lost financial assets.
  • Handle inquiries from the public as part of a dedicated team, providing information about the Unclaimed Property program and assisting claimants in the claims process.
  • Follow up on requests for additional documentation and information.
  • Collaborate within a focused team to review claims aimed at returning lost funds to citizens, managing a program that handles approximately $20 million in unclaimed assets annually.
  • Conduct document scanning and ensure quality assurance.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience, education, or training in office and administrative support roles that demonstrate:
  1. Proficiency in applying a solid understanding of modern office practices to execute complex and varied support tasks.
  2. The ability to make independent decisions regarding appropriate processes, information handling, and actions in line with established procedures.
