Position Overview

The City of Piedmont is seeking a dynamic and innovative professional to fulfill the role of Multimedia Production Manager. In this capacity, you will:

  • Oversee the daily management of the City’s public access television station, ensuring effective broadcast scheduling and channel programming while maintaining and troubleshooting all station equipment.
  • Supervise live broadcasts of municipal meetings, including City Council, Commission, and School Board sessions, while providing support to part-time broadcast technicians and stepping in as needed.
  • Collaborate closely with the Communications Program Manager to craft compelling narratives through video and multimedia productions that highlight City operations, educate the public on services, and celebrate community achievements.

This role presents an exceptional opportunity for an individual eager to leverage their production expertise to foster community engagement and enhance local governance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce, script, direct, shoot, and edit both narrative and instructional videos that showcase City programs and events.
  • Manage the broadcasting, recording, and archiving processes for public meetings.
  • Oversee the operation of video and audio equipment both in-studio and on location.
  • Develop and maintain a weekly broadcast schedule, ensuring timely and effective programming for the TV station.
  • Coordinate the activities of part-time broadcast technicians and on-call videographers.
  • Administer the City’s YouTube channel, curating content that reflects community interests.

Qualifications

Ideal candidates will possess:

  • A proven track record in producing engaging video content.
  • Experience with broadcast technology, including remote cameras, live switchers, and audio mixing equipment.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting technical challenges.
  • Strong organizational and administrative capabilities.

Experience in PEG TV and a passion for local government are advantageous.

Work Schedule

This position primarily operates during standard business hours, with occasional evening and weekend commitments required for meeting broadcasts and event coverage.
