The Office of Educational Affairs (OEA) at Tufts University School of Medicine plays a crucial role in overseeing the academic programs of the medical school, focusing on curriculum development and implementation, comprehensive evaluation, faculty training, collaboration with various administrative offices, and fostering academic excellence through innovative program grants.


Key Responsibilities:


The Educational Curriculum Coordinator is tasked with the daily management, coordination, and execution of the pre-clerkship (1st and 2nd year) medical school M.D. curriculum. This position operates under the guidance of the Director of Curriculum within the OEA.

The coordinator ensures the effective delivery of all components of the first and second-year curriculum, which includes:



Specific Duties:
  • Guaranteeing the successful implementation of all aspects of the first and second-year curriculum.
  • Developing and revising academic schedules.
  • Overseeing course pages on CANVAS and other educational platforms.
  • Regularly meeting with Course Directors, faculty, and staff to design and deliver courses.
  • Tracking and managing educational resources, administering assessments, and engaging with medical students regarding various elements of the pre-clerkship curriculum.
  • Participating in meetings with students, faculty, and other departments within the medical school, including Course Director meetings, student representative gatherings, and the Curriculum Committee.
  • Collaborating on initiatives essential to the mission of the Office of Educational Affairs.

Qualifications:

Essential Requirements:
  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in higher education, healthcare, or curriculum management.
  • A genuine enthusiasm for engaging with students.
  • Strong organizational capabilities.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and/or learning management systems.

Desirable Qualifications:
  • Experience in student engagement.
  • Ability to balance a variety of responsibilities involving both interpersonal and administrative tasks.
  • Capability to maintain composure and provide support to students in stressful situations.
  • Experience in a supervisory role.
