Bus Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Bus Technician to join our team at Wilson County School System. As a key member of our transportation department, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and reliable operation of our school buses.

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on school buses, including air brakes, diesel engines, and PM inspections.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues with engines and related systems.
• Operate and maintain Cummins and Cat Mid-Range engine diagnostic and repair equipment.
• Develop and implement maintenance schedules to ensure optimal vehicle performance and safety.
• Collaborate with other team members to achieve departmental goals and objectives.

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; ASE Master Certification preferred.
• At least 3 years of experience in school bus or medium/heavy truck maintenance and repair.
• Ability to obtain a CDL, Class B with passenger endorsement.
• Knowledge of Cummins and Cat engine diagnostic and repair procedures.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
