Responsibilities:
The role involves delivering proficient patient care across diverse age groups, including neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations. The position requires minimal oversight to safely execute patient care and essential functions. Proper body mechanics must be utilized when moving, positioning, and transferring patients, either independently or with assistance as necessary for safety.
Key responsibilities include:
- Selecting and operating radiographic and support equipment while manually determining appropriate technical factors.
- Conducting routine diagnostic x-ray procedures.
- Assisting physicians during examinations by preparing contrast media and supporting patient positioning.
- Performing related clerical duties as required.
- Rotating through various departments or areas as needed.
- Adhering to established Radiation Safety standards.
- Utilizing a personal computer or terminal to access the Hospital Information System.
- Digitizing, compressing, and transmitting images via tele-radiography.
- Complying with all regulatory requirements and policies.
- Demonstrating CPR proficiency.
- Assisting in the training of Radiology Students.
- Exhibiting effective communication and customer service skills with physicians, patients, families, and healthcare teams, both in person and over the phone.
- Responding to overhead pages and maintaining accurate electronic and paper medical records.
- Maintaining regular attendance and the ability to work as scheduled, including overtime and on-call duties.
Qualifications:
A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with successful completion of an accredited program in Radiologic Technology. Candidates must also achieve registry status with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists in Diagnostic Radiology within the first year of employment.
