Job Summary:

The OR Registered Nurse is responsible for providing high-quality patient care in the operating room. This includes preparing patients for surgery, maintaining a safe and efficient operating environment, and collaborating with the surgical team to ensure successful outcomes.

Circulating OR nurses work closely with the surgical team to prepare the operating room, manage equipment and supplies, and maintain a sterile environment. This role requires strong communication and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare patients for surgery, including administering medications and conducting pre-operative assessments
  • Maintain a safe and efficient operating environment, including managing equipment and supplies
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure successful outcomes, including communicating effectively and responding to emergencies
  • Provide high-quality patient care, including monitoring vital signs and responding to changes in patient condition
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing
  • Minimum two years previous OR experience
  • Current Georgia license as a Registered Nurse
  • Current in CPR, ACLS, and PALS
  • Possess the ability to work independently and prioritize responsibilities
  • Possess the ability to deal tactfully with patients, families, physicians, and employees
  • Knowledgeable of policies and procedures specific to operating room nurse
