Job Title: Sous Chef

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at Gecko Hospitality in Omaha, Nebraska.

Job Summary:

The Sous Chef will be responsible for leading a team of cooks and ensuring the highest quality standards in food preparation and presentation. This includes collaborating with the Executive Chef to develop new menu items and implementing seasonal changes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee inventory management, ordering supplies, and maintaining kitchen equipment
  • Train new staff members and supervise their performance to guarantee consistency in dishes
  • Assist with budgeting and cost control efforts while adhering to health and safety standards
  • Contribute to the positive culture and work environment established at our restaurant

Requirements:

  • 2 years of experience in an upscale casual or fine dining restaurant
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team to deliver consistent results
  • Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and procedures
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
