About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Staff Nurse to join our team in the Northern State Prison in Newark, New Jersey. As a Staff Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and working collaboratively with healthcare professionals in a correctional environment. This is a per diem position, offering flexible scheduling and the opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities include assessing the physical health needs of adult inmates (18 to 64 years) and geriatric patients (65+), identifying and implementing interventions to address these needs, and demonstrating strong communication skills to promote a safe environment for providing healthcare services. The ideal candidate will possess a graduate degree from an accredited School of Nursing, valid licensure to practice in the State of New Jersey, and CPR certification. A bachelor's degree in Nursing or its equivalent is preferred, as well as a minimum of one year of experience in a correctional setting.
