Position Overview:
As a vital member of Cavalier Healthcare of England, the Environmental Services Associate is responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and upkeep of both interior and exterior areas of the facility. This role is essential in fostering a welcoming and safe environment for residents.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct daily cleaning and maintenance of floors in resident rooms, offices, and common areas, adhering to established protocols.
  • Manage the removal and replacement of floor finishes as necessary.
  • Address spills and maintain cleanliness in all areas, following directives.
  • Ensure storage areas are organized and assist with furniture movement as required.
  • Perform minor repairs on furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
  • Maintain adequate lighting and overall functionality of the facility.
  • Supervise housekeeping and laundry staff to ensure efficient operations.
  • Oversee maintenance services to uphold facility standards.
  • Assist with the cleaning of dining areas post-meals.
  • Change curtains and drapes in resident areas as needed.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned by the Administrator.

Physical Requirements:
The role requires the ability to:
  • Lift, carry, and reach at and below shoulder height.
  • Push, pull, and grasp various items including paperwork and small equipment.
  • Stand, walk, twist, bend, stoop, kneel, and squat as necessary.
  • Demonstrate fine motor coordination and legible reading and writing skills.

Cognitive and Sensory Requirements:
Effective communication with residents, families, and staff is essential. The ability to hear instructions and respond to resident needs is critical, along with the visual acuity to perform tasks accurately and detect odors for maintenance purposes.

Licensure:
No specific licensure is required for this position.

Work Environment:
This role involves exposure to risks classified by the C.D.C. as Category II, with potential for exposure in emergency situations. Candidates must be able to work in a fast-paced environment typical of a healthcare facility and enjoy engaging with elderly residents.
