Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Paramedic/ER Technician to join our team. As a Paramedic/ER Technician at Hospitality Health ER, you will be responsible for providing proficient and competent care to patients of all ages, while maintaining a patient-centered focus.
Key Responsibilities- Provide and assist with emergency patient care as delegated by the Registered Nurse and Paramedic.
- Engage in positive working relationships with patients, visitors, and staff to create a patient-centered focus.
- Participate in activities to plan, measure, assess, and improve the quality of patient care, including customer service assistance.
- Assist in conducting orders by physicians accurately and efficiently, including starting lines, performing EKGs, and drawing blood.
- Identify emergencies and provide necessary intervention, recognizing parameters of vital signs and identifying opportunities for immediate attention.
- Show initiative and self-direction in providing patient care and support to co-workers.
- Communicate effectively with patients and co-workers.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other clinical facilities in making decisions about patient care.
- Lead and direct co-workers and other staff members.
- Address patient concerns during procedures and explain the process in an informative and reassuring manner.
- Use tact, courtesy, and poise when dealing with patients, keeping them calm, and ensuring they receive the best care possible.
- Process patient data into the computer, including patient history, anatomical area to be scanned, orientation, age, weight, and position of entry.
- Perform equipment quality checks and troubleshoot problems.
- Cooperate with facility healthcare personnel and comply with facility policies and procedures.
- Greet patients and guests with a warm and welcoming manner, cultivating a personal patient care initiative that goes beyond for all patients.
- Exercise problem-solving and conflict resolution skills when managing patient concerns, referring concerns to designated personnel as needed.
- Follow the workflow as assigned and implement changes and procedures with little to no notice, demonstrating flexibility to meet change management requirements.
- Adhere to and ensure compliance with HHER policies, procedures, and customer service standards.
- Participate in maintaining a safe, clean, and organized environment.
- Prepare diligent notes with complete details within information systems to communicate with other staff, supervisors, and auditors.
- Display integrity and honesty.
- 2 years of experience working in an ER environment.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong organizational, reasoning, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work under pressure in high-stress situations.
- Minimum certification: EMT-P.
- Pay is commensurate with experience.
- Night shift differential.
