Role SummaryThe Patient Care Technician/Phlebotomist embodies the core values and ethical standards of Northwestern Memorial Healthcare, ensuring compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist patients with daily living activities and provide fundamental nursing care to non-critical patients, while maintaining a safe and sanitary environment under the guidance of the supervising Registered Nurse.
- Support educational initiatives previously introduced by the Registered Nurse.
Essential:
- Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
- Physical demands assessment is necessary to confirm capability to perform essential job functions, adhering to established safety standards.
Preferred:
- Certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT).
- Prior experience in a hospital setting as a Patient Care Technician or Emergency Department Technician.
