Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver to join our team at Birchwoods At Canco Assisted Living. As a Caregiver, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care and support to our residents, enhancing their quality of life and promoting their overall well-being.


Key Responsibilities


  • Assist with Activities of Daily Living: Assist residents with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, eating, transferring, and mobility.


  • Engage Residents in Meaningful Conversation and Activities: Engage residents in meaningful conversation, socialization, and activity while providing personal care assistance.


  • Respond to Resident Needs: Respond to all resident needs and/or requests for care promptly, and provide or obtain assistance with care as necessary.


  • Assist with Resident Meal Times: Assist in the dining room during resident meal times.


  • Encourage Participation in Activities and Outings: Encourage residents to participate in scheduled activities and outings, and assist with those activities as needed.


  • Maintain a Clean Environment: Assist in the cleanliness of the community, including straightening resident beds, emptying resident garbage, and tidying resident rooms daily and as needed.


  • Assist with Resident Laundry: Assist with resident laundry per shift guidelines.


Requirements


  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.


  • Experience: Previous experience working with the elderly in a residential or long-term care setting is preferred.


  • Communication Skills: Must be able to read, write, and speak English to communicate effectively with residents, families, visitors, and other staff members.


  • Physical Demands: Must be able to perform job duties and responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation.


  • Certifications: Able to pass the necessary tests (i.e., CPR, First Aid, Food Handlers, etc.) if required by state regulations.
