We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Caregivers and Companions to join our team at Senior Living Communities. As a Caregiver or Companion, you will play a vital role in providing personalized care and support to our seniors, enabling them to maintain their independence and quality of life.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, toileting, transferring, and feeding.
- Provide mobility assistance, including using transfer aids, and transferring and positioning clients.
- Prepare and cook meals, perform light housekeeping and laundry duties, and assist with grocery shopping and errands.
- Offer companionship and engage in daily activities with clients, promoting social interaction and mental stimulation.
- Provide pet care services, including assisting with grooming, feeding, walking, and bathing.
- Represent the company positively, creating a respectful and courteous environment for clients and colleagues.
- Document services provided accurately and thoroughly, submitting reports in a timely manner.
- Report any changes in client needs, condition, or incidents to the supervisor promptly.
- High school graduation or equivalent required.
- Two years' experience in a similar position desired, but not required.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English fluently.
- Ability to work with minimal or close supervision.
- Must conduct all business in a professional manner and with a high level of confidentiality.
- Must pass competency testing on hire and ongoing for meal preparation, housekeeping, infection control, safety in the home, proper handling of emergencies, transportation, pet walking, and care.
- Current listing with no substantial finding on state Aide Registry, as state appropriate, if applicable.
- Valid driver's license with proof of insurance.
- Ability to work indoors for most of the workday and provide a reliable means of transportation as required.
- Physical ability to perform job-related duties, including lifting, standing, bending, transferring, stooping, stretching, walking, pushing, pulling, and providing partial or complete assistance with non-personal activities of daily living.
50-90% of work is performed in a client's home, with exposure to malodorous, infectious, body fluids, and some minimal exposure to noxious smells from cleaning/disinfectant agents.
