Position Type: Full-time

As a Food Services Coordinator, your primary role will involve the preparation of meals, snacks, and desserts for residential programs, special events, and training sessions. You will also be tasked with developing a culturally sensitive menu tailored to the dietary needs of Refugee and Immigrant youth, ensuring compliance with nutritional standards set by agency, state, and federal regulations. This may include accommodating Halal dietary practices, Central American culinary traditions, and other cultural preferences.

This role requires you to work effectively with moderate supervision while adhering to established procedures and regulatory guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe kitchen environment in line with Health Department standards.
  • Ensure all kitchen equipment is properly cleaned and maintained.
  • Provide high-quality food service to all residential programs and staff events.
  • Keep accurate recipes and digital records for meal production, including temperatures and sanitation practices, in accordance with agency and regulatory standards.
  • Ensure availability of digital records for audits and licensing reviews.
  • Order or purchase necessary supplies promptly.
  • Receive and manage supplies from wholesalers.
  • Regularly meet with supervisors to discuss menu planning and catering events.
  • Participate in required training and apply learned knowledge in practice.
  • Engage with community resources as necessary.
  • Offer catering services to other programs while prioritizing the needs of residents.
  • Provide opportunities for residents to assist in kitchen operations as requested.
  • Act as a role model and mentor to youth, providing skill-building opportunities.
  • Stay informed about residents' dietary restrictions, allergies, and meal preparation needs.
  • Complete additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in Culinary Arts or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of one year of hands-on experience preferred.
  • Must hold and maintain ServSafe and ServSafe Allergens Certification.
  • Demonstrated reliability in meeting time-sensitive deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Must pass an annual TB test and provide documentation regarding Hepatitis immunization preferences.
  • Valid motor vehicle license and access to a reliable vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage.
  • Pass a criminal history background check, including checks with state and local child protection agencies.
