Job Summary

Children and Families First Delaware Inc is seeking a qualified Early Childhood Educator to join our team as an Early Head Start Teacher. This is a full-time position that requires a high level of dedication and commitment to providing high-quality care and education to young children.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement daily lesson plans that promote the cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development of children aged 0-3 years.
  • Work collaboratively with a co-teacher to create a nurturing and responsive environment that encourages positive social interaction, active engagement in learning, and self-motivation.
  • Implement Individual Family Services Plans (IFSPs) for children with disabilities and provide support to families in achieving their goals.
  • Use observations and anecdotal notes to document children's progress and individualize curriculum.
  • Support the social and emotional development of children and promote a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure the successful operation of the classroom and achieve meaningful progress of each child.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED, Infant/Toddler CDA with at least 120 training hours in Infant/Toddler content plus at least 480 hours of experience working with infant and toddlers.
  • Associates or Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field with experience preferred.
  • Bilingual (desirable).
  • Understanding of infant-toddler development and age-appropriate expectations for pro-social behaviors.
  • Demonstrated computer literacy skills, using MS Office applications and other basic data systems.
  • CPR and First Aid Certification.
  • Physical exam, TB and Drug Screening, and criminal background check required.
  • Ability to respond appropriately to cultural differences present among the agency's service population.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.
  • Valid driver's license that meets the requirements of the agency's insurance carrier.
