Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Ultrasound Technologist to join our team at Good Samaritan Hospital. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our hospital.

Responsibilities
  • Manage images and ultrasound examinations in our automated systems, ensuring accurate and efficient processing.
  • Prepare and maintain records and files of procedures, adhering to strict confidentiality and HIPAA standards.
  • Inspect and ensure equipment is functioning properly on a continual basis, maintaining a safe and clean environment for patients.
  • Review patient medical history and physician instructions, preparing equipment for procedures and selecting appropriate settings.
  • Explain procedures to patients, recording relevant medical history and directing them to positions that provide optimal views.
  • Perform ultrasounds, capturing high-quality images and evaluating results for quality, measurements, and analysis.
  • Maintain ultrasound equipment, probes, and images in a sanitary manner, sterilizing the room after procedures.
  • Present images and preliminary findings to physicians, ensuring accurate and timely communication.
  • Comply with safety, infection control, and quality improvement policies and procedures, properly identifying patients using hospital-wide safety identifiers.
  • Charge procedures and supplies used to patient records, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
Qualifications

We require a minimum of one year of experience in clinical diagnostic ultrasound or satisfactory completion of formal training at an approved diagnostic school. Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) certification by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) is preferred.

A high school diploma or equivalency is required. If applicable, the individual performing this job may reasonably anticipate coming into contact with human blood and other potentially infectious materials, necessitating the use of universal precautions, personal protective equipment, and adherence to infection control policies.
