Sustainability Implementation Specialist

We are seeking a detail-oriented Sustainability Implementation Specialist to join our team at Earth Friendly Products.
Company OverviewAt ECOS, we strive to create plant-powered laundry detergents and cleaners that promote sustainability and reduce environmental impact. Our mission is to produce products that are safer for people, pets, and the planet.
About the RoleThis role involves supporting the implementation and monitoring of sustainability policies within the company. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of waste management principles and be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities:- Maintain accurate records of recycling activities and prepare regular reports on volume and type of recycling.
- Track waste-related data and complete the TRUE Zero Application.
- Monitor and record donations made from each facility.
- Conduct hands-on waste stream audits at each facility to categorize, measure, and analyze materials retrieved from solid waste bins.
- Serve as the primary contact for recyclers in all facilities.
- Expand supplier take-back programs by identifying reusable items and coordinating with suppliers.
- Identify outlets and recyclers for special and miscellaneous items to ensure proper disposal and recycling practices.
- Maintain records of miscellaneous item disposal across facilities to support a diversion rate of over 95%.
- Collaborate closely with operations to calculate waste amounts, costs, potential outlets, and associated expenses for waste materials generated during operations.
- Work closely with recycling technicians at all four facilities, traveling to each facility at least once a year.
- Conduct internal sustainability audits within all four divisions at least once per year and submit reports to the Director of Sustainability.
- Develop internal communication to reinforce sustainability programs and policies.
- Create educational materials for recycling practices and sustainable policies.
To be successful in this role, you should possess:
- A Bachelor's degree in a Science or Sustainability-related field; and/or 3-5 years of relevant experience.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Highly organized with ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver assignments on time.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
The estimated salary for this position is $60,000 - $80,000 annually, based on industry standards and location.
