Key Responsibilities

Strategic Planning and Client Management

  • Formulate and execute comprehensive SEO strategies that align with clients' business objectives.
  • Conduct thorough research on findability, competitive analysis, and market trends to guide strategy development.
  • Act as the primary liaison for key client accounts, ensuring satisfaction and success in SEO-focused engagements.
  • Present SEO strategies, reports, and outcomes that connect with broader business goals in a clear and persuasive manner.

Execution, Optimization, Reporting, and Analysis

  • Oversee the implementation of extensive SEO programs, including technical SEO, content enhancement, link building, and related services.
  • Utilize advanced SEO tools and analytics platforms to monitor, analyze, and report on campaign performance.
  • Identify optimization and growth opportunities, implementing changes to enhance SEO-focused engagements.
  • Develop and deliver comprehensive SEO performance reports, including metrics, insights, and actionable recommendations.
  • Employ data-driven analysis to evaluate the success of SEO initiatives and inform future strategies.

Leadership, Team Management, and Collaboration

  • Lead, mentor, and cultivate a team of SEO professionals, promoting a culture of continuous learning and innovation.
  • Establish clear objectives and performance expectations for the SEO team, conducting regular performance evaluations.
  • Create and deliver training materials to enhance and expand SEO-focused client engagements.

New Business Development and Marketing Support

  • Generate demand for Hearst services by developing industry perspectives and thought leadership content.

  • Lead new business proposal content and presentations focused on SEO and related services.
  • Develop integrated go-to-market strategies that incorporate SEO and other Hearst offerings into broader client business strategies.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in SEO for agencies or brands.
  • 3+ years of experience managing direct reports with demonstrated leadership.

Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, computer science, information technology, or a related field is strongly preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of SEO principles, best practices, and industry trends.
  • Strong analytical skills; ability to derive conclusions from data and take appropriate action.
  • Results-oriented with strong business acumen.
  • Proficient in web analytics across key platforms like Google Analytics and Adobe Analytics.
  • Fundamental understanding of technical SEO; experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and web design technologies.
  • Experience in new business processes, including prospect discovery and sales development.
  • Strong storytelling and presentation skills.
  • Ability to adapt quickly and work in a dynamic environment.
  • Highly organized with excellent analytical, time management, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and clients simultaneously.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills are a plus.
