Position Overview

Rite-Solutions, Inc. is in search of a proficient and driven Lead Systems Engineer specializing in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE). This role involves contributing to advanced systems engineering initiatives, focusing on the development and enhancement of naval combat systems.

Key Responsibilities:

The selected candidate will leverage their MBSE expertise to construct comprehensive System and System of Systems (SoS) models tailored for naval surface fleet operations. Responsibilities encompass:

  • Creating and refining SoS models and Top-Level Requirements (TLRs).
  • Developing combat architectures and architecture concepts.
  • Generating report templates utilizing Velocity Templating Language (VTL).
  • Designing Unified Architecture Framework (UAF), DoD Architecture Framework (DoDAF), and Systems Modeling Language (SysML) diagrams.

Experience in SysML diagram creation is essential, while familiarity with UAF and DoDAF viewpoints is advantageous. This position plays a pivotal role in advancing MBSE methodologies across the organization and contributes significantly to national defense initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • A solid foundation in SysML, with a minimum of 5 years of experience in constructing SysML models using Cameo Systems Modeler (or MagicDraw).
  • Knowledge of UAF is beneficial.
  • Proven experience in modeling and implementing MBSE on both new and legacy systems.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, capable of conveying complex MBSE concepts to non-technical stakeholders and illustrating the advantages of MBSE.
  • Experience in creating customized report generation templates and macros in Cameo Systems Modeler.

Core Duties:

  • Champion the integration of MBSE and model-based artifacts in legacy combat systems programs.
  • Oversee the maintenance of Top-Level Requirements models.
  • Architect warfare system models and enterprise architecture frameworks.
  • Model both external and internal interfaces.
  • Gather MBSE requirements from stakeholders.
  • Educate stakeholders on MBSE benefits, practices, and interpretation of SysML and UAF diagrams.
  • Model system missions, use cases, behaviors, and structures.
  • Create report generation templates using VTL.
  • Facilitate the transition to MBSE through process diagrams.
  • Present MBSE outcomes to clients and organizational leadership.
Essential Skills:
  • 8+ years of relevant Systems Engineering experience (2 years may be offset by a Master’s degree in Systems Engineering or a related field).
  • 5+ years of applicable MBSE experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • Expertise in Cameo Systems Modeler or MagicDraw.
  • Thorough understanding of SysML.
  • In-depth knowledge of MBSE methodologies (e.g., OOSEM, MagicGrid, SYSMOD).
  • Experience in implementing MBSE on both new and legacy systems.
  • Strong communication and presentation abilities, with a knack for articulating MBSE benefits to diverse stakeholders.
  • Capability to explain the modeling process for both legacy and new systems.
  • U.S. Citizenship and eligibility for a DoD Top Secret security clearance.
Additional Preferred Skills:
  • Experience in developing DoDAF and UAF diagrams.
  • OCSMP Model User certification or higher.
  • INCOSE CSEP or ESEP certification.
  • Experience with report generation in Cameo Systems Modeler.
  • Familiarity with naval combat systems or unmanned systems.
  • Active DoD Top Secret security clearance.
