Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Services Specialist to join our team at the Salt River Pima Maricopa Indian Community. As an Electrical Services Specialist, you will be responsible for providing skilled electrical services for commercial facilities, including installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Installs, inspects, maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs electrical systems for new and existing commercial installations.
  • Identifies issues and performs necessary repairs on commercial electrical equipment and electrical systems using testing instruments and equipment when required.
  • Assists in the inspection of new electrical equipment, machinery, devices, and electrical systems for both new and older commercial buildings in conformity to SRPMIC Design Guidelines and NEC.
  • Works proficiently on a daily basis with various electrical equipment, tools, and materials.
  • Performs work safely in close proximity to various voltages, including single and 3 phase equipment.
  • Receives and completes work orders, performs pre-task planning, and estimates required labor and materials.
  • Follows proper lock-out-tag-out (LOTO) safety protocol and installs proper lock-out-tag-out safety devices on various electrical equipment, machinery, and devices as required by NEC and OSHA.
  • Works independently or cooperatively and coordinates with other electricians and construction trades.
  • Safely operates electrical tools and equipment, including generators, compressors, benders, meters, and other equipment used in the commercial electrical field.
  • Operates work-truck to load and unload equipment and material from warehouse, vendors, or wholesale houses to and from job sites; drives to and from job site.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned to maintain and enhance departmental and agency operations.
Requirements
  • Graduation from high school or GED equivalent, completion of a certified Electrical Apprenticeship Program, and a minimum of three (3) years' experience as a commercial journey level electrician.
  • Knowledge of general policies, procedures, and standards followed in the construction trades.
  • Knowledge of current OSHA rules and regulations, current building and safety codes, and the current National Electrical Code.
  • Ability to read, understand, interpret, and follow commercial blueprints, notwithstanding working from drawings, sketches, and work-orders.
  • Ability to follow oral or written instructions.
  • Ability to work in dirt and dusty conditions, weather-exposed situations, and at heights up to 50 feet.
  • Ability to pull wire through conduit repetitiously, measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install electrical conduit using rulers, measuring devices, hand tools, pipe threader, and conduit bender.
  • Ability to safely operate boom-truck (up to 30ft in air), single-person lift, and scissor lifts, and extension ladders.
  • Ability to properly use fall arrest equipment.
  • Ability to walk, climb, lift, stand, bend, stoop, perform repetitive movements, and carry objects, including but not limited to electrical tools, materials, and equipment, weighing pounds and to otherwise physically perform and complete electrical tasks as directed by supervisor.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Native American or preference will be given to a qualified: Community Member Veteran, Community Member, Spouse of Community Member, qualified Native American, and then other qualified candidate.
