General Utility Worker

The State of North Carolina is seeking a skilled General Utility Worker to join our team. As a key member of our facilities maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of tasks to ensure the smooth operation of our buildings and facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform general building maintenance and facility support functions, including installation of office furnishings, assembly/disassembly of office cubicle systems, and repair/installation of window treatments.
- Assemble new equipment and move furniture and office equipment to relocate offices.
- Power wash buildings and structures, and install/repair campus road signs.
About the Role
This is an essential position that requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities. You will be required to report to work during periods of adverse weather and may be required to report for duty during emergency callback conditions and assigned on-call rotation.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a general knowledge of the principles and techniques used in the duties assigned, as well as documented skills in the use of all common hand and power tools. You will also need to be able to perform heavy physical tasks for extended periods of time and have a current and valid NC Driver's License.
Preferred Qualifications
Management preference will be given to candidates with at least one (1) year of experience in general facility maintenance working as a repair technician or similar position maintaining and repairing facility equipment and furnishings, including moving, assembling, and relocating office furniture and equipment.
