Plant Maintenance Director

We are seeking a skilled Production Operations Supervisor to lead our plant's equipment maintenance operations in Plymouth, MI. As part of the Transparent Search Group team, you will oversee the optimal functionality of all production equipment, develop and improve process control systems, and foster a safety and efficiency culture.
Job SummaryThis role offers a competitive salary range of $80,000 - $120,000 per annum, depending on experience.
About the RoleIn this critical function, you will ensure maximum equipment utilization and efficiency by maintaining schedules and implementing preventive maintenance programs. You will also oversee the relocation, dismantling, and replacement of machinery as needed, troubleshoot production equipment, and manage spare parts inventory.
- Preventive Maintenance:
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and costs.
- Maintain maintenance schedules, ensuring maximum equipment utilization and efficiency.
- Equipment Management:
- Oversee the relocation, dismantling, and replacement of machinery as needed.
- Troubleshoot production equipment to resolve critical issues and support manufacturing operations.
- Manage spare parts inventory and build relationships with preferred suppliers.
- Team Leadership & Development:
- Lead and motivate the maintenance team to achieve high performance.
- Plan and conduct training sessions on maintenance skills, safety, and company policies.
- Ensure fair distribution of work, including overtime assignments.
- Safety & Compliance:
- Champion safety initiatives, ensuring compliance with OSHA standards and company policies.
- Conduct accident prevention and investigation training for team members.
- Process Improvement:
- Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to identify problem areas and implement innovative solutions.
- Maintain and optimize the preventive and predictive maintenance software system.
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- Education & Experience:
- A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field (e.g., mechanical engineering, industrial management).
- Recent experience in a manufacturing plant (automotive industry experience highly preferred).
- Skills & Competencies:
- Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively supervise and inspire a team.
- Proven mechanical aptitude with expertise in machine components and systems integration.
- Analytical problem-solving abilities, with a hands-on approach to equipment maintenance.
- Knowledge of maintenance software and database management.
