Geotechnical Intern Job Description

Responsibilities
  • Conduct construction observations and site visits.
  • Assist with field explorations, sample collection, and geotechnical laboratory testing.
  • Support report preparation and geological or engineering analyses.
  • Interact with clients, vendors, and staff at all levels.
  • Adhere to Shannon & Wilson's Quality Assurance policy and Health and Safety and Loss Prevention policies.
Requirements
  • Completed Junior year of undergraduate coursework in Geology or Civil Engineering with a focus on Geotechnical.
  • 0 to 3 years of experience.
  • Coursework and/or working backgrounds in soil mechanics, foundation engineering, slope stability, and engineering geology.
  • Geotechnical laboratory testing experience is a plus.
Level Placement

Typically, a Geotechnical Intern would be placed at a Shannon & Wilson Technical Services I, II, III, or IV level, depending on their education, experience, and qualifications.

Pay Range: $22.00 to $30.00 per hour
