Overview:

The Registered Nurse (RN) delivers expert nursing care to ensure the comfort and health of patients. This role involves preparing medical equipment and assisting physicians during various examinations and treatments. The RN is responsible for administering prescribed medications, changing dressings, cleaning wounds, and monitoring vital signs of patients. Additionally, the RN maintains comprehensive records regarding patient care, conditions, reactions, and progress. The RN actively participates as a primary nurse, associate nurse, team member, or team leader in the planning and execution of patient care. This position also includes directing and supporting safe aseptic techniques and procedures, while providing leadership to all support staff within the department.

About the Cardiac Cath Lab:

The Cardiac Cath Lab features six angiographic suites, including one dedicated to Electrophysiology Procedures (EP), as well as a Hybrid OR suite. Annually, we conduct approximately 4,000 diagnostic and 900 interventional cardiology and peripheral procedures. Our services encompass Right/Left Heart Catheterizations, percutaneous coronary/peripheral interventions, AAA stent repairs, Transcutaneous Aortic Valve Repair (TAVR), EP Ablations, and pacemaker/ICD implants. We are affiliated with the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care, achieving door-to-balloon times of 60 minutes. Our team boasts a collective experience of over 200 years.

CHRISTUS Spohn Hospital Corpus Christi-Shoreline is a leading acute care medical facility in the region, offering a comprehensive range of diagnostic and surgical specialty services in cardiac, cancer, and stroke care. It serves as the primary emergency facility in the area and is the only Level II Trauma Center in the Coastal Bend, staffed with specially trained physicians and nurses in emergency services.

  • The Pavilion and the Critical Care Center feature a state-of-the-art Emergency Department, ICU, Cardiac Cath Lab, and surgical suites.

  • Accredited as a Chest Pain Center.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program with the ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care.
  • Preferred one year of nursing experience.
  • Current Texas State RN License.
  • CPR certification (American Heart Association).
  • ACLS certification required within six months of hire/transfer date.
  • EKG certification required within 90 days of hire/transfer date (Shoreline).
