Fire Sprinkler Designer Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Fire Sprinkler Designer to join our team at Summit Fire & Security. As a Fire Sprinkler Designer, you will be responsible for designing and developing automatic sprinkler systems, including fire pumps, tanks, wet, dry, pre-action, and deluge systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop automatic sprinkler systems using working knowledge of fire sprinkler codes.
  • Perform hydraulic calculations for each design.
  • Prepare submittal packages to send to the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) and subsequent correspondence to achieve design approval.
  • Participate in coordination meetings with contractors.
  • Participate in design kick-off meetings.
  • Prepare fabrication lists for pipe fabrication vendors and requisition materials for jobs.
  • Perform field surveys to ensure designs are appropriate for structures.
  • Assist field personnel with design-related installation issues.
  • Prepare and submit final job close-out documents after final acceptance testing.
Requirements:
  • HS Diploma or equivalent required.
  • NICET II or NICET III and/or state required certification required.
  • 1-2 years' experience as a sprinkler designer required.
  • Construction experience, mechanical aptitude, basic and advanced math skills required.
