About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pediatric Care Specialist to join our team at UMass Memorial Health. As a key member of our inpatient pediatrics unit, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our young patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clear and timely communication to the Registered Nurse regarding patient observations and changes.
  • Participate in maintaining a safe environment and utilize interventions to de-escalate patients when necessary.
  • Assist patients with daily living activities, such as personal hygiene, ambulation, meals, and nourishment.
  • Assist in moving, lifting, positioning, and transporting patients using proper safety techniques and body mechanics.
  • Maintain patient safety by performing patient safety checks and following restraint policy standards.
Requirements
  • Minimum of a high school education or GED.
  • Current Basic Life Support or Heart Saver certification.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to gather information, build relationships, and provide exceptional service to patients.
  • Ability to remain calm under stress or in emergency situations.
